Open German Youth Shogi Championships 2024
in the age groups U12, U15, and U18.

Date: May 4th, 2024
Venue: Mundenheimer Str. 220, 67061 Ludwigshafen am Rhein
The Open German Youth Shogi Championship will be held in the age groups U12, U15, and U18. Eligible for participation are all children and adolescents born after the following deadlines:
- U12 - born on or after January 1st, 2012,
- U15 - born on or after January 1st, 2009,
- U18 - born on or after January 1st, 2006.
For the verification of birth dates, we kindly ask all participants to have an official document ready during on-site registration.
German citizenship is not required for participation. In each age group, the best participant residing permanently in Germany will be awarded the title "German Youth Shogi Champion 2024".
Schedule: On-site registration until 10:00 a.m., first round at 10:15 a.m., award ceremony around 4:00 p.m.
Tournament format: Swiss system, 6 rounds; Time control: 20 min + 40 sec Byoyomi
Prizes: Trophies for the top players in each age group, special prizes for the top girls,
special prize for the best school
(The school prize will be awarded if at least three schools with at least two participants are represented).
Registration: Please use our registration form to sign up registration form.
(Registration by a legal guardian is required).
Registration deadline: extended to May 3rd, 2024 - 3 p.m.
Entry fee: 5 EUR, for members of Shogi Deutschland 3 EUR
Scoring: Tournament results will be forwarded to FESA (Federation of European Shogi Associations) for ELO evaluation.
Open German Championship: Concurrently with the Youth Championship, the German Shogi Championship and the
Open German Shogi Championship will take place on May 4th/5th, 2024. Children and adolescents who also wish to participate in
the Open German Championship can play the last three rounds of the Open German Championship on Sunday (May 5th).
Youth Hostel: Shogi Deutschland is a member of the German Youth Hostel Association (Deutsches Jugendherbergswerk).
If you are interested in staying overnight at the Mannheim Youth Hostel (Jugendherberge Mannheim), Shogi Deutschland
can book a place for you. Participants are responsible for covering the cost of accommodation themselves.
