We are honoured to welcome the following professional shogi players from Japan as our special guests.

Shohei Takada

7-dan

FESA is happy to announce that this year professional shogi player Shohei Takada, 7-dan, will attend the tournament as representative of the Japan Shogi Association (Nihon Shogi Renmei).

Yasushi Ishikawa

4-dan, professional shogi coach

Yasushi Ishikawa 4-dan, professional shogi coach in Tokyo, known all over the world thanks to his Youtube channel delivering technical advices in a very pedagogical approach. He will play training games with the participants, and will offer analysis of the games.

Tetsuaki Sanada

3-dan, professional shogi coach in the UK

He has taught Shogi to children and adults in Japan, China, and now is focusing on teaching in Europe. He will play training games with the ESC/WOSC participants. He has also recently found his passion for chess and is trying to inspire people as an adult improver.

Noboru Kosaku

Shogi researcher and writer

Noboru Kosaku serves as principal researcher for shogi and go at the Osaka University of Commerce. He is furthermore one of the most prolific writers and journalists on shogi in Japan. At the Shoreikai, the professional shogi school, he was at the same generation as the shogi legends Yoshiharu Habu and Toshiyuki Moriuchi, to whom he remains close up to this day.
